Isn’t it a bit gross?
Absolutely not! The blood is contained in the bowl of the cup, and you just tip it away. You come into less contact with your period blood using the cup than you do with tampons or pads. It can be a bit awkward getting used to it, but after the first one or two cycles, you’ll never look back.
Unlike pads and tampons, you know yourself that the cup is sanitary, and you know that no chemicals are going to irritate your body. To make sure, you can boil them, or soak in sanitising fluid after every cycle. You can wear the cup whilst playing sports, swimming and living life exactly as you normally would. It gives you twelve hours of worry-free protection – no longer do you have to work out where the nearest toilet is.
Tell me about the pads?
These reusable pads are made from absorbent bamboo cloth, and are lined with waterproof but breathable PUL fabric. This means no leaks and no uncomfortable sweat! They are really simple to use, just soak them in cold water and throw in your normal wash. They come out clean as your underwear! The bamboo layers mean they are really soft, and they just snap into your underwear with a press stud. They are great for people with sensitive skin, and they are great for the environment as they last for years!
